This week 7th graders got their feet wet working in the STEM Center. They are programming SPHERO robots to follow a designated course. Students use math skills, coding and calculations in plotting the course for the robots.
Alumni, Brandon Johnson says, "This is really cool. The most programming I encountered before college was the BASIC programs that were in our math books. Somehow I still ended up as a programmer. This is a great way to give kids a head start and teach them what possibilities are out there." We are so excited to be able to offer students new opportunities and expose them to a variety of career fields at this level. This really opens the doors for Merrill students.
We look forward to all the opportunities our students will get from this newly remodeled space. Go Vandals!
